As per para 3.7 of New Telecom Policy (NTP) 1999 for providing application like tele-banking, telemedicine, tele-trading, e-commerce, call centers etc., Other Service Providers (OSPs) are allowed to operate by using Telecom Resources provided by various authorized Access Service Providers only and they are required to be registered with the Department of Telecommunications.
In view of the above, I am directed to say
that all such OSPs are required to ensure that they are registered with the
Department of Telecommunications and Telecom Resources like PSTN/Leased
lines/ISP bandwidth etc. are taken from authorized Telecom Service Providers
only.
